Cat Naming 101
Just like human names, cat names go through trends rising and falling in popularity.
Here are a few tips for naming your pet:
- Choose easy-to-pronounce names that sound good when you say them aloud
- Choose a name that your pet can easily recognize during training (one or two-syllable names)
- Choose a name that fits your pet’s personality, coloring, markings, and/or breed
- Avoid names that sound similar to commands (“kit” for “sit”)
- Finally, trust your gut. The best name is the one that feels right for you and your pet!
